Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (AUTh)

Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (AUTh) is the largest university in Greece and a leading higher education and research institution with extensive experience in international cooperation, research excellence, and project coordination. As the coordinator of the i4EUFITMOS project, AUTh brings strong expertise in managing complex transnational initiatives, supported by its long-standing involvement in European programmes such as Erasmus+, Erasmus Mundus, TEMPUS, Jean Monnet, and Horizon 2020.

With nearly 74,000 undergraduate and postgraduate students, 11 faculties, 40 schools, and approximately 2,500 academic and research staff, AUTh combines institutional capacity with a strong international orientation. The university maintains a broad global partnership network through hundreds of bilateral agreements with European and international institutions and ranks among the leading Greek universities in mobility and international engagement.

Driven by a strategic commitment to quality, innovation, and excellence, AUTh has developed a holistic internationalisation approach and a strong research profile across diverse disciplines. Its experience in coordinating and implementing large-scale European projects makes it well positioned to lead the i4EUFITMOS consortium and ensure effective collaboration, knowledge exchange, and successful project delivery.

Faculty of Human Kinetics, Universidade de Lisboa

The Faculty of Human Kinetics (FMH), part of the Universidade de Lisboa (ULisboa), is a leading higher education and research institution in the fields of sport sciences, physical education, exercise and health, and human performance. Within the i4EUFITMOS project, FMH contributes extensive expertise in physical activity promotion, physical literacy, and evidence-based programme development.

FMH combines strong academic excellence with applied research and practical implementation through specialised research laboratories focused on pedagogy, motor behaviour, and exercise and health. The faculty also leads FitEscola, a national Portuguese initiative promoting physical fitness and healthy lifestyles through physical education in schools. Its experience in research, education, and large-scale programme delivery makes FMH a valuable partner within the consortium.

Sports Union of Slovenia (SUS)

The Sports Union of Slovenia (SUS) is the largest national sport for all organisation in Slovenia, representing more than 170 member organisations and over 60,000 members nationwide. As a key actor in grassroots sport, physical activity promotion, and healthy lifestyle advocacy, SUS brings extensive experience in community engagement, capacity building, and sport for all development.

Within the i4EUFITMOS project, SUS contributes strong expertise in physical literacy promotion, stakeholder engagement, non-formal education, and grassroots sport implementation. Through its broad national network and active involvement in major European and international sport organisations, SUS plays an important role in outreach, dissemination, and ensuring sustainable project impact.

The Deutscher Sportlehrerverband (DSLV)

The Deutscher Sportlehrerverband (DSLV) is the only professional association for physical education teachers in Germany, representing approximately 10,000 members across schools, universities, sports clubs, and higher education institutions. With a strong national structure and long-standing expertise in physical education, DSLV plays a key role in advancing quality physical education and professional development in Germany.

Within the i4EUFITMOS project, DSLV contributes extensive expertise in physical education, teacher training, knowledge dissemination, and international cooperation. The organisation has significant experience in organising conferences, workshops, and professional learning activities, as well as participating in European collaborative projects, including several Erasmus+ Sport initiatives.

As a member of key national and European sport and education networks, including the German Olympic Sports Confederation and EUPEA, DSLV brings strong dissemination capacity, policy insight, and direct access to the physical education community, making it a valuable partner in the i4EUFITMOS consortium.

Northern Greece Physical Education Teachers’ Association

The Northern Greece Physical Education Teachers’ Association (E.G.V.E.) is one of Greece’s leading professional and scientific organisations in the field of physical education, representing more than 9,000 physical education professionals across Greece and Cyprus. With a long-standing tradition in advancing physical education, sport, and professional development, E.G.V.E. brings extensive expertise in education, scientific dissemination, and international cooperation.

Within the i4EUFITMOS project, E.G.V.E. contributes strong experience in organising scientific congresses, seminars, educational events, and European collaborative initiatives focused on physical education, health promotion, and sport participation. The organisation has participated in several EU-funded projects and maintains close cooperation with academic institutions, public authorities, and national sport bodies.

As a recognised voice in the physical education sector and publisher of Greece’s longest-standing physical education journal, E.G.V.E. brings valuable dissemination capacity, professional outreach, and sector-specific expertise to the i4EUFITMOS consortium.

Faculty of Sport and Physical Education at the University of Montenegro

The Faculty of Sport and Physical Education at the University of Montenegro is a leading higher education and research institution in the field of sport sciences, physical education, and sports medicine in Montenegro. As part of the country’s largest and oldest university, the faculty plays a central role in the education of sport professionals, scientific research, and the development of evidence-based approaches to sport and physical activity.

Within the i4EUFITMOS project, the faculty contributes strong expertise in sport science research, higher education, and collaboration with national sport and public institutions. With extensive experience in supporting ministries, the Montenegrin Olympic Committee, and research initiatives at both national and European levels, the faculty brings valuable academic, scientific, and policy-related knowledge to the consortium.

Its long-standing role as a key hub for sport science in Montenegro, combined with strong regional and international cooperation, makes the University of Montenegro a valuable partner in the i4EUFITMOS consortium.

Albanian Sports Science Association (ASSA)

The Albanian Sports Science Association (ASSA) is a non-governmental organisation dedicated to promoting physical activity, sport, and healthy lifestyles through research, education, and community engagement. Founded in 2012 in Tirana, ASSA works to strengthen the connection between sport science and societal impact, with a strong focus on inclusion, health promotion, and active communities.

Within the i4EUFITMOS project, ASSA contributes expertise in sport science, community-based physical activity initiatives, education, and youth engagement. The organisation has experience in designing and implementing projects that promote healthy lifestyles, evidence-based sport practices, and capacity building across different population groups.

With a collaborative and innovation-driven approach, ASSA actively engages with universities, research institutions, NGOs, and health and sport stakeholders, making it a valuable partner in the i4EUFITMOS consortium, particularly in areas related to outreach, community activation, and the promotion of physical activity for health and wellbeing.
